SW-10PRO took the musicality to the next level

As an audiophile and music lover I am always looking for ways to improve my listening experience. For years this could only be done through LPs and pure analog front ends yet lately with the improvements in digital, digital music is my preferred source. This includes local music files as well as streaming.  The lower noise floor, increased dynamics, and resolution of digital music is compelling and the ease to get hi-def digital files makes digital music as a serious source worthwhile. I use Qobuz as my preferred streaming service and love the quality of the music, platform stability, large selection, and ease of use.

My recent focus has been improving streaming musicality. My system consists of

• Pass Labs XA30.8 amplifier

• Allnic L-7000 preamp

• 2 Kinki Studio x Vinshine Power Enhancers,

• Cary DMS-800PV Music streamer/DAC

• Marten Parker Trio loudspeakers

I recently added a Vinshine LHY SW-10PRO Audio-grade switch and still can’t believe the improvement and feel compelled to spread the word!

While the system was already excellent, the addition of the SW-10PRO took the musicality to the next level. From a dead quiet background, streaming music is now startling. For any of you that don’t believe adding an audio-grade switch makes a difference you’re wrong. I have had a few high-quality switches over the last 5 years yet the SW-10PRO has made the most significant improvement in areas that matter to me; musicality, soundstaging, timbre, and generally taking me closer to a more organic sound. I have lived with the SW10PRO for almost 3 weeks now and the improvement is remarkable. It’s not only built exceptionally well, but also great looking and fits in nicely with the rest of my system. Most importantly is the music and this is where the SW10-PRO excels. 

What do I hear? The image is more 3-dimensional now with each instrument in its place, focused, and musical. I was learning to accept that digital music and mainly streaming music would never have the depth and dimensions of top analog. I was wrong. I can touch the music image and hear deep into the soundstage. Voices are round and instruments, especially wooden unamplified instruments, are tonally warm yet detailed. The timing of music is amazing. Everything feels right and the leading notes are super-fast and the decay of notes are more noticeable and natural. While there are more musical details, there is zero hint of brightness or an edge to the music. Qobuz streamed music now sounds better than the CD equivalent and on par and sometimes better than locally sourced (USB attached) music. When a piece of equipment can change the listening experience this much, it’s noteworthy and a game-changer.

Functionally the SW-10PRO is well thought out with all the right inputs and outputs. It’s logical in its layout, easy to setup, and works flawlessly. While there is a power switch it is designed to be powered on all the time so set it and forget it. The clock used is exceptional, the power supply very quiet, and 2 master clock outputs provide a lot of options. The unit is carved from a single piece of aluminum and is extremely solid and inert.   

While not cheap, the SW-10PRO is worth every penny and is the best audio equipment investment I have made in years. As for the buying experience, it was simple. The team at Beatechnik are great. They kept me informed throughout the process from order to delivery and answered questions I had about setup. The unit was packed perfectly and on par with a top product.

For any of you that are seriously listening to digital music and streaming is becoming a source of music for serious listening, you can’t go wrong with the SW-10PRO.
