DDC

A fix for a problem you may not have.

Re-clocks USB and hands the converter a cleaner signal over I2S or AES. Genuinely transformative on an older DAC. Completely redundant on a current one.

Do you actually need this?

Do you need it? Probably not. Ask us before you buy one. We have talked more people out of a DDC than into one.

What to check before you spend

Find the age of your converter and the input you are using. A DAC from the last few years, fed over USB, usually has nothing here for a re-clocker to fix. An older one, or one whose USB input was never its best, is where a DDC earns its place. Check whether yours has an I2S or AES input at all before you buy something to feed it. Ask us first.

It has arrived. Now what?

Getting a USB DAC to sound right is mostly settings, and the settings are not where you would guess. We wrote both guides, step by step, with a screenshot of every panel: macOS and Windows.

In plain language: DDC, I2S
