Do you actually need this?

Do you need to change it? Only if it cannot play what you want to play, or cannot be supplied properly. A competent streamer is a solved problem.

What to check before you spend

Two questions settle this. Does it play what you actually listen to, on the services you actually use? And can it be fed properly, meaning it has a DC input or a supply worth replacing? If both answers are yes, keep it. A streamer that cannot be improved is a reason to change; a streamer you have simply owned for a while is not.
